Perception.

per·cep·tion/pərˈsepSHən/

Noun:
  1. The ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through the senses.
  2. The state of being or process of becoming aware of something in such a way.
Synonyms:
realization - understanding - comprehension  Lately I've been thinking about how our surroundings often blend in. Taking the same route everyday becomes second nature, before you know it you don't even remember how you got there. After a while the things that surround us start to blur together and fade into the background of our lives. Even something as simple as a tree that has always been there but because you see it so often you've forgotten that it even existed. Then one day you're driving your normal route and you notice that tree like it is something brand new even though it has been there for years. There is so much surrounding us however we get so focused in on ourselves that we forget all of the beauty the world has to offer. The next time you are somewhere that you spend a lot of time in sit back and take a breath, really observe the space around you. I bet you will notice new things popping up all over. Actively observing the world around you is an honestly eye opening experience.
